On September 8, 2025, Alvin L. Young Nazarene High School proudly celebrated Literacy Day under the theme “Promoting Literacy in the Digital Era.” The event highlighted the important role that reading and writing continue to play even in today’s technology-driven world, while showcasing how literacy and technology can work hand in hand.
The morning began with students gathering in the chapel, where Mrs. Diana opened the program with a brief explanation of what literacy truly means and how it influences every part of our daily lives. Following this, Mr. Blancaneaux captured everyone’s attention with a presentation of past student projects in animation, showing how creativity, literacy, and technology come together to produce impressive results.
The program continued with Ms. Kristen, who shared a dynamic presentation on career opportunities where literacy and technology intersect, reminding students that reading, writing, and critical thinking remain key skills for future success. Students left the session inspired, motivated, and with a clearer understanding of how literacy opens doors to endless possibilities in the modern world.
